Biblical Doctrine

About the Bible

In the Christian Bible, inspired by God, as the absolute and final authority for truth, salvation, doctrine, and Christian living. We believe that the Church today has no authority to establish doctrine or practice contrary to these same scriptures.  We use reliable and accurate word-for-word translations of Scripture (such as the KJV, NASB or ESV) to establish doctrine and settle differences of opinion among Christians. (Psalms 12:6; 18:30; 33:4-6; Matthew 24:35; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).

About God

There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father in creation, as the Son Jesus Christ in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in regeneration.  Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9;  I Timothy 3:16).

About Sin and Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation.  Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).  It's God's desire that everyone should understand and obey the gospel of truth by being born again into His Kingdom (1 Timothy 2:4;  John 3:3-5;  2 Thessalonians 1:8;  1 Peter 4:17)

About Obeying the Gospel

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and resurrected from the dead.  We obey the gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (John 3:3-5; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4; 37-39; Romans 6:3-4).

About Christian Living

As Christians, we are to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength.  We are to love others and treat them as we would ourselves.  All born again believers should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. We are to cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (Mark 12:28-31;  II Corinthians 7:1;  Hebrews 12:14;  1 Peter 1:15-16).

About the Body Of Christ

The Church, which is the Body of Christ, was established by our Lord as a unique and special fellowship for all who believe.  It is the spiritual community ordained for worship, stewardship, and service to God and people.  The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. The Body of Christ, born again believers, will display the same miraculous power and spiritual gifts experienced by the early church. (Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:4-16)

We believe that the gifts and callings of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher are functional within the Body of Christ until the Lord’s return.  Furthermore, these ministries are gifts to the Church for the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, that the Body of Christ may be edified. (1 Cor 12:8-10;  Eph. 4:11-16)

About the Future

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church.  In the end, there will be the final resurrection and the final judgment.  The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15)
